Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake, #1

Announced over New York Comic Con, in January BOOM! studios will be releasing a 6-issue mini-series featuring our favorite gender-swapped Adventure Time heroines, Fionna and Cake! Their episode of the Cartoon Network show is one of my favorites from the series, so you can imagine my excitement when I was given the chance to do a cover for the book.

The above image is a variant for issue 1, with lush colors by the one, the only, Maris Wicks. Enjoy!

Had a lot of fun with this one, as Kaylee was one of my favorite characters on the show. Hope to return back to this sometime soon and slap some color on it.

NYCC 2012 Wrap Up

New York Comic Con has come and gone, and I had a great time. Maris and I shared a table right beside Paolo Rivera, where we kept super busy throughout the weekend, selling our wares and drawing up commissions. I'll be posting drawings from the con in proceeding blog posts, but for now here's a peek at my weekend in pictures:

Even I got in the game on Sunday, when my sister came down for the show. We costumed, of course, as the sibling team of Dipper & Mabel from Disney's 'Gravity Falls'.

Paolo was also roped in, as he found himself accosted both by Hawkeye,

And Daredevil!

Above is my very first cover for Boom’s ultra-fun comic series, Adventure Time. I’ve long been a fan of the show, so it was a blast working on this. BOOM! BOOM!

But enought about that—

New York Comic Con starts today!!

I’ll be there along with Maris Wicks in Artist Alley at table J-11, right beside comic book drawer extraordinaire, Paolo Rivera. 

There I’ll be selling some brand new prints, including Maris and my collaborative piece, ‘The Atlantean’, starring our favorite aquatic fish-conversing superhero. I’ll also be selling what’s left of my ‘Yield for Snails’ sketchbook, as well as taking on commissions.

On Sunday, fans of Gravity Falls might wanna stop by my table at some point during the day. Just Sayin’. I’ll also be doing a signing at the Marvel booth then from 1-2pm.

This month Marvel, in conjunction with the Susan G. Koman for the cure organization, are putting out a series of variant covers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I contributed to the bunch with the above Captain Marvel cover.
