Wednesday Comics Wednesday: Hardcover Edition

So today the hardcover edition of Wednesday Comics hits the stands and I must say, it's a gorgeous book. All the pages are printed on a high quality paper in beautiful, vibrant color. It's a great package; collecting each of the 15 stories from the series run over 12 weeks (issues) last summer. There's even a bonus section of pre-production sketches, logo designs, and two backup single page stories done for the series that were never published - 'Plastic Man' by Evan Dorkin and Stephen DeStefano and 'The Creeper' by Eric Canete and Keith Giffen,

I was particularly pleased with how my and Kurt's Green Lantern story printed. The art is crisp and bright - it no longer being printed on newsprint. And Kurt already pointed this out on his blog, but a shout out must be made to Mr. Pat Brousseau for his lettering work on the project. The borderless word balloons were a great choice.

Of course, the ultimate 'shout out' must go to Mr. Mark Chiarello, who was the brainchild behind this awesome project as well as its collected hardcover. Way to be.

I HIGHLY recommend this book, and not because I'm in it - it's just a great art book, filled with amazing artwork (by the likes of Mike Allred, Ryan Sook, Paul Pope, Kyle Baker, Lee Bermejo and on and on) and it's friggin' HUGE. Super proud to have been a part of it.

The book is GIGANTIC! Is it broken up by story or by week? Story I assume? The series was really great, and a lot of fun last summer.
