Black Canary

A couple of months ago I had the good fortune of meeting writer extraordinaire, Kurt Busiek. He was very nice, and voiced an interest in collaborating on some comics work together. That has finally coalesced into a pretty cool project, being spearheaded by DC's own Mark Chiarello. I can't yet talk about the project we actually are working on, but I'm pretty excited about it.

Anyway, here's a Black Canary drawing I did over the summer back when Kurt and I were talking about which characters would be fun to work with. (The story we are working on does not involve Black Canary) I really liked the drawing, so I decided to pull it from my sketchbook and add inks and colors just for fun. Here's the end product:

Hopefully it comes across - but it's a little bit of an homage image to the cover of 'Flash Comics No. 92.' Her first appearance.

Just 'discovered' your work after that Newarama interview and I love it.

As an aspiring illustrator is there anywhere on your blog where you discuss your colouring techniques.
